I am a self-taught multimedia artist living and working in the beautiful Lynedoch Eco Village in Stellenbosch. Following my passion and leaving behind my corporate job in 2022, I have taken the plunge to live my dream and become an artist.
My love for the sea and my adventures free diving in the kelp forest serve as a constant source of inspiration. The diversity and shifting nature of the ocean, along with my passion for cold water swimming, is what energises me most to create. I am also inspired by the indigenous flora and fauna of South Africa and its conservation. My art is a reflection of these intricate and vibrant eco systems.
As an intuitive and flowing artist, I let my hands guide me, allowing the pieces to emerge naturally, as if they have a life of their own. This approach allows me to create unique and expressive works.
Clay really captivates me with its textures and tactility. I enjoy creating sculptural functional pieces, often moulding and shaping the clay using my hands to make imprints, details and texture. The end result is a fusion of organic form and function and a sense of movement and life.
