Self-taught photographic artist with a graphic design qualification, Neo Theku has been disciplined and strives to produce a better work of art each time he is in the studio, he is passionate and challenges himself by entering art competitions. Having been selected as an overall winner of the New Breed Art Competition in 2019, he has been working to make his mark in the art industry with every opportunity coming his way. With 11 physical group exhibitions, and having works featured on virtual festivals, attending art boot camps, Theku is also working on his debut art series which consists of 15 artworks.

The series tackles issues related to mental health among young black men, with a concern that most of these men grow up not knowing their fathers, growing up in challenged communities looking up to role models who exhibit bad behaviour, but yet still expected to be better male figures who will stand against any kind of abuse. Theku uses his work of art to make society aware that men should be given space to talk and express themselves freely without judgment.
